Jacksonville University: merit scholarships by GPA

Verified Oct 24, 2026Current cycleACT not used for meritJacksonville, FL

Jacksonville University awards automatic merit aid from a published grid keyed to GPA — the ACT is not used. Awards start at a 2.5 GPA and reach $30,000 a year. Because the bands are steps rather than a slope, a hundredth of a GPA point is worth nothing inside a band and the whole step at the edge of one.

Enter a GPA below to see which band it actually lands in, what that band pays, and what the next band needs.

Every rung is published as a $3,000-wide RANGE and Jacksonville does not say what decides where inside it a student lands — the figures here are the assured low end of each. The GPA is unweighted. The page prints no entry year.

Academic Scholarship

$26,000–$29,999 a year / year

About $104,000 over four years, if it renews.

Jacksonville awards this on GPA alone, so an ACT score does not change it. A higher score can still matter for admission, for honours programmes, and at other schools on the list — but not for this award.

The ACT doesn't move the money here — but it still decides admission, honours eligibility, and what they is worth at the other schools on the list, where most awards are score-keyed.

Does Jacksonville superscore for scholarships?

No. No for the ACT, specifically. Jacksonville's FAQ says the SAT is superscored and the ACT and CLT are not — so a student planning to combine best sections across sittings should do it on the SAT. It makes no difference to this grid, which reads no score, but it matters for the programmes that require one.

“the SAT is superscored and the ACT and CLT are not”

This matters more than it sounds. A student whose superscore crosses a band but whose best single sitting does not will be paid on the lower band. Look up your best single sitting in the grid above, then find what is costing you points on one test.

Where these numbers came from

Every figure on this page was read from Jacksonville University’s own published pages, linked below with the date we last confirmed them. We do not estimate a missing band or interpolate a value.

  • Jacksonville superscores the SAT and explicitly does not superscore the ACT — unusual, and worth knowing before choosing which test to retake.
  • Every rung is a $3,000-wide range, and the ranges tile the whole $14,000-to-$33,000 space with no gaps.
  • The figures here are each range's low end, the part a qualifying student is assured of.
  • The GPA is unweighted, and the bottom rung starts at a 2.50.
  • Scores ARE required for the Honors programme, the 4+1 programmes and Direct-Entry Nursing.
  • The page prints no entry year and no renewal condition.

Check before you rely on it. Grids change by entry year and schools update them without notice. This page is a reproduction with a date on it, not a guarantee, and it is not financial aid advice. ClutchACT is not affiliated with Jacksonville University.

Frequently asked questions

What ACT score do you need for a scholarship at Jacksonville?

Jacksonville University publishes a merit aid grid keyed to ACT score and GPA. See the tables on this page for the current bands.

Is Jacksonville test-optional?

Jacksonville is test-optional for admission. Its Honors programme, 4+1 programmes and Direct-Entry Nursing do require scores. For merit aid the answer is different: the academic scholarship grid is keyed to unweighted GPA alone, so a score cannot move it. Scores are required for the Honors programme, the 4+1 programmes and Direct-Entry Nursing — and for those, JU superscores the SAT but not the ACT. Being admitted without a score and qualifying for money without a score are two separate questions.

How much is a 30 on the ACT worth at Jacksonville?

On Jacksonville's published grid for the current cycle, an ACT of 30 with a 3.6 GPA qualifies for Academic Scholarship at $26,000 a year, about $104,000 over four years if it renews.

Does Jacksonville superscore the ACT for scholarships?
