McKendree University: merit scholarships by GPA
McKendree University awards automatic merit aid from a published grid keyed to GPA — the ACT is not used. Awards start at a 2.75 GPA and reach $17,000 a year. Because the bands are steps rather than a slope, a hundredth of a GPA point is worth nothing inside a band and the whole step at the edge of one.
Enter a GPA below to see which band it actually lands in, what that band pays, and what the next band needs.

The published first-year grid is GPA-only, but McKendree's test-optional page adds that "test scores may be required for some scholarships" without saying which — so a student should ask directly whether any award beyond this grid needs one. The page prints no entry year, no deadline and no renewal condition.
Unweighted, as the school asks for it.

Example — a 3.60 GPA
Presidential Scholarship
$14,000 per year / year
About $56,000 over four years, if it renews.
McKendree awards this on GPA alone, so an ACT score does not change it. A higher score can still matter for admission, for honours programmes, and at other schools on the list — but not for this award.
The ACT doesn't move the money here — but it still decides admission, honours eligibility, and what they is worth at the other schools on the list, where most awards are score-keyed.

Does McKendree superscore for scholarships?
Not stated, and it would not move this grid, which uses no test score at all.
With nothing published, plan for the stricter reading: look up your best single sitting in the grid above, work out your superscore as well, and ask McKendree’s financial aid office which one they read before you count on the higher band.

Where these numbers came from
Every figure on this page was read from McKendree University’s own published pages, linked below with the date we last confirmed them. We do not estimate a missing band or interpolate a value.
- The grid uses no test score. A 3.75 with no ACT receives the same $17,000 as a 3.75 with a 36.
- Every admitted student at a 2.75 or above reaches a rung, and the ladder spans $7,000 a year across only three steps.
- The Honor's SCHOLARSHIP on this grid needs no score. Admission to the Honor's PROGRAM does. They are separate things with nearly the same name.
- McKendree's test-optional page says "test scores may be required for some scholarships" and does not say which, so the sentence is quoted here rather than interpreted.
- The page does not say whether the GPA is weighted or unweighted; it uses "cumulative GPA" on a 4.0 scale.
- No "up to" wording appears — the figures are flat amounts.
- The page states no entry year, no scholarship deadline and no renewal condition.
- Further scholarships are listed on a separate page and are likely application-based, so they are not on this grid.

Frequently asked questions
What ACT score do you need for a scholarship at McKendree?
McKendree University publishes a merit aid grid keyed to ACT score and GPA. See the tables on this page for the current bands.
Is McKendree test-optional?
A score is not required for admission for most students. International and home-schooled applicants, and applicants to the Honor's Program, must submit one. For merit aid the answer is different: all three published rungs are keyed to cumulative GPA, so a score cannot move this grid — a student with no ACT reaches the $17,000 Honor's Scholarship at a 3.75. McKendree does add that scores may be required for some scholarships without naming them, so ask about anything beyond this grid. Being admitted without a score and qualifying for money without a score are two separate questions.
How much is a 30 on the ACT worth at McKendree?
On McKendree's published grid for the current cycle, an ACT of 30 with a 3.6 GPA qualifies for Presidential Scholarship at $14,000 a year, about $56,000 over four years if it renews.
Does McKendree superscore the ACT for scholarships?
Not stated, and it would not move this grid, which uses no test score at all.
Is this McKendree scholarship data current?

McKendree awards on GPA — but the ACT still decides what you're worth elsewhere.
Most schools in this comparison are score-keyed even though McKendree is not, so the same test still moves the money everywhere else on the list.
