Springfield College: merit scholarships by GPA
Springfield College awards automatic merit aid from a published grid keyed to GPA — the ACT is not used. Awards start at a 2.95 GPA and reach $30,000 a year. Because the bands are steps rather than a slope, a hundredth of a GPA point is worth nothing inside a band and the whole step at the edge of one.
Enter a GPA below to see which band it actually lands in, what that band pays, and what the next band needs.

The scale is a weighted 4.0, and Springfield recalculates the GPA if a high school does not report on that scale — so the deciding number is computed by the college. The awards are for campus undergraduates only, apply solely to tuition, and a student may hold at most two other scholarships alongside one. The printed rungs also leave a sliver between 3.39 and 3.40 uncovered.
Unweighted, as the school asks for it.

Example — a 3.60 GPA
Dean Scholarship
$26,000 a year, $104,000 over four / year
About $104,000 over four years, if it renews.
Springfield awards this on GPA alone, so an ACT score does not change it. A higher score can still matter for admission, for honours programmes, and at other schools on the list — but not for this award.
The ACT doesn't move the money here — but it still decides admission, honours eligibility, and what they is worth at the other schools on the list, where most awards are score-keyed.

Does Springfield superscore for scholarships?
No. Not applicable — Springfield states that scores do not affect merit awards at all, so there is nothing for a superscore to improve.
This matters more than it sounds. A student whose superscore crosses a band but whose best single sitting does not will be paid on the lower band. Look up your best single sitting in the grid above, then find what is costing you points on one test.

Where these numbers came from
Every figure on this page was read from Springfield College’s own published pages, linked below with the date we last confirmed them. We do not estimate a missing band or interpolate a value.
- Undergraduate scholarships and assistanceverified 2026-10-24
- Admissions requirementsverified 2026-10-24
- An improved seventh-semester GPA can raise the award — almost no other grid in this dataset reopens after admission.
- The top rung opens at a 4.15, which exists only on a weighted transcript.
- Springfield recalculates the GPA onto its weighted 4.0 scale if a high school reports differently.
- There is no GPA floor: the Achievement rung pays $21,000 a year below a 2.95.
- The 3.849-to-3.85 step is worth $2,000 a year, $8,000 across four.
- Springfield states that submitted scores have no impact on merit awards.
- The awards are solely for tuition, and for campus undergraduates only.
- A student may hold at most two other scholarships alongside the merit award.
- A sliver between 3.39 and 3.40 is not covered by either rung.

Frequently asked questions
What ACT score do you need for a scholarship at Springfield?
Springfield College publishes a merit aid grid keyed to ACT score and GPA. See the tables on this page for the current bands.
Is Springfield test-optional?
Springfield goes further than most and says a submitted score may not influence the admission decision either. For merit aid the answer is different: a score cannot raise the award. The only number that moves it is the weighted GPA, and it can still be moved after the first half of senior year. Being admitted without a score and qualifying for money without a score are two separate questions.
How much is a 30 on the ACT worth at Springfield?
On Springfield's published grid for Fall 2027 entry, an ACT of 30 with a 3.6 GPA qualifies for Dean Scholarship at $26,000 a year, about $104,000 over four years if it renews.
Does Springfield superscore the ACT for scholarships?
No. Not applicable — Springfield states that scores do not affect merit awards at all, so there is nothing for a superscore to improve.

Springfield awards on GPA — but the ACT still decides what you're worth elsewhere.
Most schools in this comparison are score-keyed even though Springfield is not, so the same test still moves the money everywhere else on the list.
